Where is the love which gives constancy

The metronome which beats like my heart and gives

A constant reminder of love

The absence lingers and lingers and

I cannot get my fingers on it

The coded message told me the truth

A revelation even to me

Dozing I awoke to a dream – a picture of a tree

Branch with some things on it

Dark spots – it was too far away to see

Immediately my vision zoomed in

Damsel Dragonfly – words left my lips

With a jeweled ruby faceted eye

I could cry with the sight of 

Such a reply

Explicit and to the point                          

No beating around the bush

A message in a bottle

I am loved – some part of me

Loves me and

Has not given up and

Surrendered though

I am a damsel in distress
